Interesting questing Kevin. The stock answer might be “love of the sport”, but where does that come from? I’ve seen some top athletes, particularly as they age, not come back if they can’t compete at the same level. Of course, some injuries/conditions are show stoppers unfortunately. I joke that there’s an advantage to mediocrity – you’re rarely disappointed, so I’m just happy to have a go. And there are the health benefits just from training, and the camaraderie. Best of luck with finding your motivation.
